Buckeye Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to educate the public regarding proper pet care and ownership. While we are more than happy to help you re-home your pet, we are also here to answer any questions that you may have and offer assistance to those that desire to keep their Boxer.
If you need help with behavioral, aggression, house-training and/or obedience training issues, we will work with you as long as possible to help you keep your Boxer. The volunteers at BBR , Inc. are just an email away at BBR email
Another great source of information can be found at Boxer Dog Planet where there are over 900 Boxer owners at your disposal.
If you feel you must surrender your pet, please visit our page: Surrender a Dog.
Volunteers are needed for the following areas: fostering, application processing, transporting and fundraising.
Please visit the following pages for applications: Volunteer Application, Foster Application
Please note: at this time BBR, Inc. is not processing out-of-state applications. Please contact a rescue in your state if you are interested in adopting a Boxer.
All potential 'forever' homes are carefully screened. The first step is to fill out an Adoption Application Our application processing volunteers will screen your application and, if accepted, will verify the information contained therein. References will be checked and a home visit will be set-up at a time that is mutually convenient to your family and our volunteer.
While we do allow you to express an interest in a specific dog, we may suggest, based on your application and home/family life, a dog better suited to your living situation. You are under no obligation to follow our suggestion, however, we will not place a dog with you that your family and home are not suited for. Our goal is permanent placement for our Boxers and we reserve the right to make the final decision regarding placement.
We welcome phone calls and the chance to talk about our Boxers, but please do fill out an application first. Understand that we are not a shelter and you may not visit the available dogs until you have gone through the entire application process and been approved as a potential adoptive family.Click here for a list of pets at this shelter
Please remember that we are all volunteers with BBR. Although our involvment in this organization takes up a lot of time for us, many of us have jobs, children, and other commitments. We try to respond promptly, but that is not always possible.
If you try to contact us and leave a message, we will return your call COLLECT. If you do not accept collect calls, we will not be able to return your message. The best form of communication is via e-mail as we then have a formal record of whether or not we have returned your message.
