Who We Are
The Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a private, nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that was established in 1979. Our mission is to provide loving, humane care and housing for unwanted, abused, and neglected dogs and cats until permanent homes can be found for them. We provide medical and surgical treatment for all animals under our care; we promote the control of the cat and dog population through surgical neutering of all the corporation's animals and education of the public.

All of PAWS pets are current on vaccines (including rabies) and have been spayed or neutered. We FIV, and Leukemia test all of our cats and heartworm test all of our dogs.
