Who We Are
Purebred Adoption League is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to placing unwanted and abandoned purebred dogs into new homes. and preventing unwanted purebreds from overloading the shelter system. Towards attaining those goals, we promote responsible dog ownership by educating the public in the selection and training of dogs. Founded as a non-political organization in 2001, P.A.L. works cooperatively with breeders, animal shelters, breed clubs, and individuals to accomplish P.A.L. purpose.
The purebred dog overpopulation problem is not confined to just popular breeds. Even rare breeds are coming in to rescue's like us. The average dog available through P.A.L. is a young adult between 1-5 years old, healthy, with a good temperament.
Adopting a friend
How does P.A.L. Operate?
1. Adopters fill out an application making sure to specify the breed they wish to adopt.
2. The App then goes to the processing Committee where the Vet and personal references are verified -- and a home visit is done.
3. Next the app goes before the approval committee for the approval or disapproval.
4. If approved, the Application then goes to the Breed Representative. This rep will work with you to find the right personality of dog for you.
