Our Mission

The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)3 of the internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding sections of any future federal tax code, and more specifically to assist dog pounds/shelters in achieving maximum placement of adoptable dogs by:
*Providing rehabilitation (i.e., veterinary care), behavioral training and foster care for dogs pulled from pounds/shelters with the goal of placing them into qualified, permanent adoptive homes;
* Facilitating the transfer of dogs from pounds/shelters to qualified canine rescue groups/organizations by providing financial assistance, transport, and/or temporary foster care; and
*Educating the public about the plight of homeless dogs in pounds/shelters through community outreach events/programs in an effort to encourage the adoption of shelter dogs and to prevent future suffering and neglect of stray/abandoned dogs.

Adoption Policy

Vaccinations/Veterinary Care: Not only do we ensure that all animals are current on their vaccinations and heartworm/worm/flea prevention as well as spayed/neutered when they leave our care, we require that any existing animals in their adopted home are kept up to date in all of these areas as well.

To help the adoption process move more quickly: Please email veterinary records to adoptions@pawsitivehope.org and type the name of the animal you wish to adopt in the subject line. In addition, call your current veterinarian and let them know that we may contact them for a reference.
