Our Featured Pet...

Jimmy is a wonderful boy who has had a wicked past. We don't know what happened to him but he had his issues when we got him. He has trust issues with everyone upon first meeting. He is a super sweet goof ball now that he has warmed up to us. His foster family consists of 2 women and 1 man he loves the 3 of us dearly. He has a hard, serious look on his face all the time but he barks, jumps and wiggles his cute little butt as soon as he sees his us. He loves going for runs with me and spending time with us. He needs someone who will be patient and see his soft gooy interior rather than his "I'm a tough guy" exterior. He has been going through training to help him learn to trust people again and will go through this training until he is adopted. Please consider giving this guy a chance. He really deserves to be in a home that will love him forever.

Hey Folks,
Save A Tail has finally heard back from the IRS... We are an official NOT-FOR-PROFIT Rescue! We have finally obtained our 501(c)3 status and you know what that means. All of your donations are TAX DEDUCATBLE!!!

Who We Are

Save A Tail is an animal rescue on Long Island. We save homeless pets from euthanasia and living on the streets. We mostly deal with dogs and cats but occaision there are other small animals we work with. The Save A Tail team consists of Terri Yezzi the Founder/President and the wonderful volunteers and foster families who take care of the pets until they find new fur-ever homes. We work hard placing animals in loving and perminant adoptive homes. It gets very expensive caring for as many pets as we do and your donations go to vet bills, medications, spay/neuters, food, cat litter, toys, beds, collars, leashes, advantix, crates and carriers etc. but we love what we do. We save lives one tail at a time and the animals always appreciate it.
