Curly Tail requires a $15 application fee prior to receiving our full application. This donation goes directly toward the basic care we provide our rescued pugs. The application fee is not the same thing as an adoption fee. The adoption fee varies and is different for every pug.

To read more about the process and submit an application, visit http://www.curlytailpugrescue.org/Adoption/application-and-adoption-process-1

General Information:

All applications to adopt go through Curly Tail's standard approval process, some of which includes a phone interview, reference checks and home visit. Our Applications Team will guide you every step of the way and answer any questions you may have. (Submitting an application to adopt does not guarantee adoption.)

Upon approval of your adoption application, you will be placed on Curly Tail's pre-approved waiting list. We strive to make the best possible match for our rescued pugs and our adoptive homes. While making this match, we have to incorporate many factors. Some of these factors include simply timing, location, current household pets, work schedules and the like. We pride ourselves in making great matches (while keeping these factors in mind) and having very happy pugs and adoptive parents!

Please Note: Not all of our pugs are posted on our website. We do try to make the best possible adoption match working off of our pre-approved list prior to posting a Curly Tail pug on the site.

News

Curly Activists are involved in the lobbying for legislation that would regulate large-scale dog breeders and pet stores with the goal of cracking down on abusive puppy mills.

Curly Tail has become a part of the Best Friends Network through the Best Friends Animal Society in order to lobby against pet stores that sell puppy mill puppies.

"Purchasing a pet from a pet store is contributing to the pet over-population problem.....we want to help people understand that they are the BLOOD DIAMOND of animal welfare."

Who We Are

Curly Tail's Mission is to rescue healthy, abused, abandoned, homeless, unwanted, sick or injured Pugs. We fully rehabilitate our medically needy pugs and provide behavior intervention to help place them into loving, permanent adoptive homes from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. We have adopted pugs into amazing families as far as Maine and New Hampshire.

Curly Tail's Volunteers are a group of diverse individuals who have come together for the sole purpose of rescuing Pugs. We have agreed to donate our various talents so that the pugs in need can live their lives with comfort, love and care. We are non-profit with all volunteers and no paid employees. Each person contributes in the way best suited to their lifestyle and individual skill set. Our Curly Teams & Volunteers are ever-developing based on the unique ways our members can give of themselves to the organization & to the pugs.

DO NOT COME VISIT US. We have a fully home-based network of foster families caring for our pugs, therefore we cannot accommodate meet & greets prior to adoption.
