Are you interested in fostering a dog or cat? Foster families are an important part of animal rescue. Fosters provide the much needed love, patience and shelter to a homeless pet and we provide the essentials. Being a foster pet parent is a very rewarding experience and in return you will receive lots of tail wags, sloppy wet kisses and cuddle time. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to fostering and getting unconditional love in return, please submit your inquiry to email@example.com. A veterinary check for all currently owned pets and a home visit will be required for foster applicants.

Paws and Purrs Rescue, Inc. in Rochester, New York, is an all volunteer, not for profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of domestic animals. We will see to it that any animal we take in receives the needed medical attention and is placed in a loving foster home until they are adopted into a permanent home. We WILL NOT euthanize unless health issues necessitate such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered and receive age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption. Cats/kittens are combo tested for Feline Aids/Feline Leukemia and dogs/puppies are tested/treated for heartworm disease as needed.
**PLEASE COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION PRIOR TO MEETING OUR ADOPTABLE PETS** Begin by finding the pet you would like to adopt. Complete an adoption application and speak with adoption counselor. Applications are available on line or at our adoption events. Once the application is submitted, we will then check your current veterinary information on present/past pets. If you rent your residence, we will check with your rental agent for pets to be accepted. This may take several days. If applying for a dog, we do request a home visit to assure that a PNPR dog is going to a safe environment. When the application has been reviewed (Some pets can have multiple applications) and approved, veterinary/rental check is completed; you will be contacted by our adoption counselor as to when you can pick up your new pet. At that time we will ask you to bring the appropriate items to transport your new pet home (cat carrier, dog collar and leash) At the time of adoption, the new pet parent will receive all paperwork pertaining to the new pet and sign an adoption agreement and pay a non refundable adoption fee. After the adoption, we encourage all adoptees to contact us with any concerns. We love to hear how your new pet is settling into their new home. .
Is adopting or fostering a Paws and Purrs rescued pet something you can't do right now? Then please consider being a sponsor. Sponsorship involves making a donation in any amount to help us cover the vetting, food, and daily needs of any rescue pet you choose. Sponsorships may be paid either via PayPal (located on our website) or you may mail a check or money order to the mailing address below. Financial sponsorships may also be applied to our feral cat spay/neuter program. This program is dedicated to only helping feral cats.
