established to help special animals with unique challenges.
We are volunteer allies dedicated to improving the lives of these special animals
through public awareness, training, TTouch and other holistic support, rescue, foster care and adoption.

How WE help ... TAVI's PROGRAMS
"TTOUCH in RESCUE" & TTOUCH for ADOPTERS Programs... Training and TTouch Therapy

REHAB CENTERS, HOSPICES, and ANIMAL PROFESSIONALS...

TTOUCH in RESCUE Program
Partnering with shelters, rescue groups, rehab centers, hospices and animal professionals...
Through our program, TTOUCH in RESCUE, TTouch (a method of training and wellness with
proven health and behavior modification benefits) and other gentle, holistic methods of
training, rehabilitation, and wellness, are used to help abused, abandoned, and homeless animals.
We work directly with the animals, also showing volunteers, staff members and adopters
how to apply it in their environment and continue working with them as long as needed.
Through these methods, our goals are to help improve the condition
of animals in shelter and rescue environments, increase their adoptability,
and hopefully lower euthanasia rates and reduce the number of animals
returned to shelters or foresaken on the streets simply due to behavioral and/or health issues.
We work directly with the animals in shelters and other rescue organizations
to further help them find permanent, loving homes. This can help reduce the number of animals
in kill-shelters simply because they have no place to go. If an animal can be rehabilitated,
that animal may know the love and comfort of their own home and family
...and we want more homeless animals to experience that joy!
TTOUCH for ADOPTERS Program
Through our TTouch for Adopters program, we work with adoptive pet-parents and pets,
offering them gentle methods of reducing behavioral and/or wellness issues.
These additional techniques may make the difference in reducing the number of pets
that are often returned to shelters, or abandoned, as a final resort.
Rescue, Foster Care, Adoption / Re-Homing
Our mission also includes helping special animals with unique challenges...
with rescue and finding permanent homes, in a foster-care environment.
Volunteers in our small foster care network provide daily and veterinarian-administered care
for the special animals we take into our homes. We try to find the perfect forever home for each animal
but, if we cannot, due to their special needs, they have a loving home with us forever!
TAVI's CURLS... American Curl Rescue and Re-Homing
We also love and are familiar with this wonderful rare breed of cat,
and are committed to helping in the rescue and placement of homeless, abandoned,
surrendered or abused American Curls. Unhappily, this relatively new breed has had an
increasing number of Curls in need of re-homing. Our commitment to this breed
includes educating the public and rescue community about identifying Curls, as well.
(And, yes, we are also proud caretakers of several American Curls!)

ADOPTING a FRIEND...
We house our animals in a loving foster care network; many are unable to be adopted and they have a home with us for life.
For those animals who are able to be adopted, we endeavor to find the right match for each one.

Tavi & Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to helping special-needs animals through public awareness, TTouch training, holistic health care, rescue, adoption and foster care. Permanent, loving homes are found for each animal whenever possible; due to special-needs, some will not be adopted and have a home for life within our foster care network and, when available, in our Sanctuary.

Special-needs designates animals who may require specialized care and/or who may have difficulty finding a permanent adoptive home due to issues such as: inappropriate behaviors; age or wellness issues; orphaned; or are physically or emotionally challenged. This "uniqueness" may make them at higher risk for euthanasia, homelessness, and abuse. Our volunteers provide love, training, holistic support, socialization, and foster care as appropriate for each special-needs animal. Feral cats also have "special needs"; colony caretakers provide for the daily needs of their colonies, and rescue kittens or strays who may have been abandoned; for those cats who are able to be socialized, homes can be found.
