Our Featured Pet...
Our feature pet is Gage. Gage is a 60lb Great Dane Mix. He is very sweet, loves everyone. He gets lonely so would do well with a family who has a stay at home parent, or even another dog to play with. Because he's big and will only get bigger when he fills out he would do best with older kids he wont knock over. He gets along with other dogs and is housebroken.

We are currently not hosting any microchipping clinics until the warmer season but check back often to see an updated calander of events.
Who We Are
Traditionally, animals with extreme medical needs who are taken in by animal control shelters are euthanized because the funds needed to pay for extensive surgeries and other expensive treatment just haven't been available. But many of these animals would make wonderful, loving pets if only they had access to the medical treatment they need. The Picasso Veterinary Fund was created to give these animals the second chances they deserve. By paying for medical treatment that otherwise would not be available to them, the Fund is saving lives that in the past would have been lost.
Administered by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, the Picasso Veterinary Fund pays for lifesaving medical treatment for sick and injured animals transferred from NYC's AC&C to other Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) for adoption. The Fund is now branching out to also cover animals impacted by domestic abuse situations, as well as those surrendered by owner/guardians due to medical/health issues.
These animals get the veterinary care they need to get back on their feet, and then are put up for adoption when they are healthy enough to be placed in a good home. Since 2003, hundreds of dogs and cats have received medical treatment paid for by the Fund.

YOU CAN FOSTER WITH INTENT TO ADOPT, YOU CAN FOSTER FOR AS LITTLE OR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE. MAYBE YOU JUST DON'T WANT A FULLTIME COMPANION BUT YOU'D LIKE TO HELP THEM FIND THE RIGHT HOME IN THE MEAN TIME. WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP.
