To Anyone Who Will Listen
I can't understand what I'm doing wrong
I have been here at the shelter for way too long
Maybe no one wants me around
Due to the fact that I am a hound
I am not too old
I am not too young
I see ok
If you are far away
I am happy, I am nice
I try to do everything right
Yet still here I am
With no home in sight.

Who We Are
Founded in 1916 The Susquehanna SPCA is committed to bring about a time when there are no more homeless animals and every companion animal will be guaranteed a loving home. We will do this with spay/neuter, adoption and education programs.
Adopting a Friend
Choosing a pet is a big decision let us help you find just the right pet. We ask that you fill out a pre adoption questionaire that will assist in finding the best match. There is usually a 2-3 day processing time. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we do require that your dog meet the dog(s) your interested in prior to final approval. You must be 21 years old and provide references.
ADOPTION FEES
Cats $60.00
Dogs $65.00 plus $5.00 for licensing.
We also offer Senior Discounts 25% Off Adoption Fee for Senior Citizens or 25% Off Adoption fee of a Senior Pet(6+) or 50% Off for Senior Citizens who adopt Senior Pets.
All our animals are spayed or neutered(depending on age), wormed, tatooed and vaccinated. Cats are feline lukemia tested, tatooed and vaccinated. Dogs are bathed and recieve obedience training. ALL FOR ONE LOW FEE!!!
Volunteering and Donations
Volunteers are welcome, but must be at least 18 years old or be with a parent or guardian.
We accept donations of used clothing and some household items for our Better Exchange Thrift Shop.
Membersips are available at the following levels:
$15 Individual $25 Family $50 Sponsor $100 Patron
$250 Benefactor $500 President's Circle
$1000 Society Circle
We also are able to accept memorials and donations of stock.
Come Visit Us!
We are located on NY State Route 28 just four miles south of Cooperstown. We can easily be reached from I88 exit 17.Our hours are Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Our Thrift Shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4pm and on Saturadys from 10am to 2pm.
