Finnegan is a sweet black and white female cat waiting for her forever home.
Little Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter in Huntington, NY. With the help of a large volunteer staff, we take abused and abandoned animals from the streets and from municipal pounds when they are to be euthanized. We provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for these animals while they are awaiting homes. Cats live communally in our new cattery facility and dogs receive daily sessions of training, socialization and exercise away from their kennel rooms. Every adult dog and cat has a name and staff and volunteers get to know the individual animals that come into our care. All prospective homes and families are carefully screened to ensure happy endings. Little Shelter has served the animals and people of Long Island since 1927 and placed over 2000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies into loving homes last year.
If you are thinking of adding a pet to your life, please consider one of our shelter animals. Besides the fact that all of our wonderful dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, inoculated and spayed or neutered before adoption, Little Shelter stands ready to help for the lifetime of every Little Shelter animal. If, at any time, there is a problem or questions, Little Shelter can provide training assistance and advice in an effort to ensure our adoptions are happy ones.
