Anyone interested in our cats/kittens must fill out an application, sign a contract agreement and pay a donation of $75.00 per cat and/or kitten. A home visit and references are required . All fosters are tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and treated for fleas and parasites. Kittens too young to be spayed/neutered will be done at our place of choice when they come of age as part of the fee and signed contract agreement. A deposit is required if they are not altered at the time of adoption. The deposit will be returned once the cat is altered. If the owner prefers to bring the kitten to a vet of their choice for the spay/neuter it will be at their own expense. We would also need verification that the procedure was done by getting a copy of the receipt.

Who We Are

Habitat for Cats (HFC) is a non-profit 501© (3) organization established in May of 1999 to help relieve the suffering of feral and homeless cats. Our focus is to reduce the feline overpopulation. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which feral and alley cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by licenced veterinarians. Habitat for Cats Foster/ Adoption program arose out of the need to shelter adoptable cats and kittens rescued from homeless or abandoned situations to give them a chance at a better live. Our cats are placed in foster homes to provide the environment to transition the stray cat from life outdoors and to socialize young kittens that have never had human contact. Fostering is a method of caring for adoptable animals that are waiting to be adopted and or need socialization prior to adoption. It also keeps them from being in a shelter waiting to be adopted or euthanized. It is also a method of providing hospice care for cats that have been deemed unadoptable or are positive for FIV/FeLV. More shelters are looking to the community to provide hospice to animals and help them to give animals a second chance.

Come Visit Us!

Habitat for Cats Foster/Adoption program seeks to find homes for every adoptable cat and kitten in our care. We are not a traditional shelter. All our beautiful cats and kittens are cared for in private homes by wonderful foster caregivers. They bring them into their homes and pamper and take care of them until they are ready for adoption and are adopted. Please send donations to the address below or look us up at www.habitatforcats.com
