Our featured Animal Angels....

The Crafty Critters are a 4H group who came to visit us and learn about the animals here. They had lots of fun playing with the puppies and even got to see our 10 day old kittens whose eyes had just opened. All the animals were very happy to have some extra playtime that day, even in the rain!! They are planning on doing a fundraiser for us in the future. We are very excited about their offers to help. They are a great group of girls whose kindness to animals just shines through!!

Who We Are

An animal advocate my whole life I have been rescuing and finding forever homes for animals that need help for over 20 years. After volunteering in New Orleans I knew that I wanted to focus on this full time so I began the the process starting my own rescue. I love what I do (with help from my husband who is a retired Firefighter) and take on the motto of "The Littlest Engine" with I think I can, I think I can... when things seem to be getting overwhelming or the vet bills get so high. I do know that one person doing their part, no matter how large or small, can make a difference. I have met so many gracious, deserving pets over the years and try to give back the love and trust they put in me by giving them a better life than where they came from and "another chance" to find a forever home. I have also met many other dedicated people from all over the U.S. doing what they can to improve the lives of many formerly unwanted pets. I have fallen in love with my FOSTER FURRIES over the years and although it is always hard to let them go, just thinking of the next one needing to be saved helps me continue. I do this in my own home where I get to know each and every one of them very well and can make the best matches into new families. They all stay in my home and become part of the family until their own family can be found. We are a 501c3 non-profit rescue so donations are tax deductable. Donations are needed to help with the vet bills and to keep my rescue going. Every dollar is very much appreciated and goes to the high cost of vet care.

Be an Angel for Animals and sponsor an animal today. Our Angels for this month are Rita P.,Tracey F., Margaret A., Mary D., Stefanie B.,and Elizabeth C.. Thank you all.!! You don't need a paypal account to donate, just click on the donation box and you can use your credit card in a secured site.

Adopting a friend

ANYONE CONSIDERING ADOPTION OF AN ANIMAL PLEASE READ:

THANK YOU for considering adoption of one of our rescued animals. We have an eight step adoption procedure. Making our adopters aware of the steps initially makes the process proceed easier. The eight steps are:

1. Selecting an animal, or animals, from our website on PetFinder that would be the potential new member to the adopter’s family.

2. Email us at papillon1254@rochester.rr.com and let us know whom you are interested in adopting and a little about yourself.

3. We will respond to your email and send out an application attached to an email. You will fill out the application and email it back to us.

4. We review your application, contact your references and contact your vets office with questions about previous pets health care. Please be patient as it may take up to a week to get back to you. Our main focus is the care of the animals in our home.

5. We will select the applicants that would possibly be the best match up with the personality and needs of the perspective pet. We then invite those applicants to schedule an interview with the pet in our home, and we ask that all family members be present.

6. We will evaluate the possible adopter(s) interaction and satisfaction with the pet and the animal’s reactions to their future family. Also, any questions or concerns are addressed at this time.

7. Once you have met the animals we will get back to you within 24 hours to schedule a home visit if we think it is a good match. This is to see where the pet’s living area will be, how the pet’s toileting needs will be met, and that the adopting family is ready to make the commitment to bring this new member into their family and give it the love and care it didn’t have before in its life. We have adopted out of our area in the past so please let us know if this is the case.

8. The last step is to sign a contract with us concerning the pets future needs and continual well being; pay the adoption fee; and either take the pet into your home at that time or schedule a future date to pickup the pet at our home.

We cannot stress enough that our goal is to find the best possible home for the animals we rescue. We never know the whole story of what these poor animals have been through when we receive them and start providing love and care for them. BUT, we can do everything in our power to make sure that they have the best possible future. And that means a loving, caring, forever home.

Adoption fees vary and spay/neuter deposits are required for all puppies and kittens. Older cats and dogs are spayed and neutered before adoption. PLEASE DO NOT CALL, EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR FOR AN APPLICATION.
