Southern Breeze would like to welcome our newest addition to the farm..."Hickory"! He is a Palamino/paint Miniature. He was born at 5:00 a.m. on Good Friday. His parents came to the farm last month. Congradulations to April at Champlain Smiles on being Hickory's new mom!

Welcome to the Southern Breeze farm website. Kelly Allen, the owner of the farm, started this facility after a numerous amount of livestock, horses and smaller farm animals were found to be homeless. This includes horses, goats, geese, chickens, and other animals. Kelly Allen is the manager of the Elmore SPCA in Peru, and she is also the Cruelty investigator for the northern New York area. Some of the animals at our facility have been seized under the cruelty laws of New York State.

We also have handicapped and disabled animals that are up for adoption depending on the special needs. Some of the animals at the facility are permanent residents due to cancers, lameness, and other ailments, But these animals may be sponsored.

Buttercup came to the farm last winter, she lost her mate in the Spring of this year, and was very lonely. She would not leave her nest of eggs for almost 3 months, and we were worried about her. With the help of friends and family,we found her a new husband. Her and BillyBob are now very happy and will be starting a family of their own next year.

Jack is an 12 year old that fell on the ice and is permentantly disabled, he makes a wonderful companion horse to Britches at the farm. Due to his injuries we are looking into a nerve stimulating unit to decrease his discomfort. If you would like to sponsor him please send donation to address below and in check memo please put Jack.

Sandy is a wonderful horse who was dropped off at the farm because the owner could no longer afford his needs. He is 25 years old, has an old pelvic injury, and has heaves. With the help of our veterinarians and nutritionist, Sandy became a beautiful animal. Dr Anderson has adopted this horse and we are very thankful for his compassion and his ability to see what a great companion an older horse can be. Dr. Anderson just recently adopted another horse from us named Falcon. Falcon is a 5 year old throughbred off the Saratoga race track. He broke his sesmoid bone and become lame before he came here.

We thank everyone who has helped this farm and has done everything they can for the animals. A very special thanks goes out to Doctors David Goldwassar and Diane Dodd at the Adirondack Veterinary Hospital for helping out the special needs horses, and to Lance Falcon, our nutritionist who has made a lot of these special needs horses blossom into healthier, happier animals. For anyone with questions regarding nurtrional needs for their own horses you can reach Lance Falcon at (518)643-0167.
