AnimaLovers saves lives. Since the summer of 1995 AnimaLovers volunteers have been rescuing and finding new homes for stray and unwanted dogs and cats all over the Capital Region. Our not-for-profit group provides foster homes, veterinary care, nutritious food and a lot of love to the animals in its care. Each cat and dog is carefully matched with it's new adoptive family.
Because AnimaLovers promotes sterilization rather than euthanasia as the best means of population control, the group pays to spay and neuter all animals in its custody. To help guarantee a bright future for the cats and dogs in our community, AnimaLovers also educates the public about the responsibility of pet ownership and supports laws that prevent cruelty to animals.
AnimaLovers' main objective is to match each of our animals with the right guardian. If you are interested in adopting, we'll ask you to complete an adoption application. We'll give you all the relevant information about the animal who interests you and we'll ask you questions to determine if this is the right match for everyone.
Adoption fees are $80 for cats and kittens; $100 for dogs and puppies. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption (if they are too young, AnimaLovers will provide a certificate which will pay for the procedure at the proper time), are fully vaccinated, and all prior veterinary and behavioral information is provided to the adoptive person or family.
You'll be signing an adoption contract with us as we finalize your adoption. You will then be given a copy of the contract and a folder which contains the animal's medical records and any other important documents and other relevant information.
