Our Featured Pet...

Storm is a gorgeous dark gray young kitty people often refer to as a Russian Blue. He is very friendly, playful, neutered, healthy and even has extra toes!! (polydactyl).
He is ever so calm despite his predicament of losing his home and ending up in a shelter cage.
Storm is a very handsome young man looking for the right home. Maybe yours?????? Please come and adopt him....
With your help the ACQ can help more animals and find them their forever homes so they can have a healthy, happy life. But we do need your financial support.
We Need Your Donations So These Sweeties Can Get Medical Attention
This debonair gentleman had a skin condition when we rescued him. We treated him and now he's all dressed up ready for his new home...
|
Laika had 3 puppies we diligently cared for. Now all 4 are ready to be adopted. Hopefully Laika can be adopted with one of her babies.
|
Kittens are very susceptible their first few weeks of life to illness. Your donations allow us to buy medicines and keep them healthy
|
The ACQ is asking for your assistance in raising money for the ever growing medical bills that allow us to help our homeless dogs and cats. Adoption fees don't cover many of the expenses and one sick animal is a major setback financially.
Please help and make a tax-deductible gift to the animals at our Best Friend Adoptions site or send a check to our postal address found below. Use the link below to make a secure donation via Credit Card.
Foster Homes and Volunteers Needed
We urgently are in need of Foster homes for our animals.
By fostering, you give one of the animals the companionship and social experiences they'll need in order to better get adopted and we learn valuable insight to make the right adoption match for them.
Please consider fostering a dog or cat, even if its for a short time.
We need foster parents to help socialize some of our rescued young kittens that are between 4-7 months old.
Please call 718-424-3340 or stop by for more information on fostering.
Who We Are
The mission of Animal Center of Queens, Inc. (ACQ) is to educate and inform the public about responsible companion animal ownership, the importance of early training, the necessity to spay and neuter to prevent pet overpopulation which leads to abandonment, cruelty, and euthanasia, and that pet ownership is a lifetime commitment.
The ACQ operates a boarding facility in Queens County in New York City and is a member of the New York City Mayor's Alliance for Animals. We help homeless and displaced companion animals with temporary shelter, food, human companionship, medical care, low cost spay-neuter services through local veterinarians and behavior training until a suitable home can be found.
ACQ also provides low cost companion animal behavior training at our facility as well as doggie day-care and puppy head-start.
Adopting a friend
We are a not-for-profit "no-kill" boarding facility that has no government funding, and exists solely on the low cost community services we provide and the donations that come from animal lovers like yourself.
We provide dogs with daily walks, exercise and play time, meals, medical attention and grooming. We feed, clean litter boxes and get medical attention for the kitties when needed. We have volunteers who come in and provide the cats some TLC and human companionship while they wait to be adopted.
We are very thankful to all of our volunteers and your donations.

We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. |
