		Who We Are The Well Mannered Pit Bull is a small-scale rescue and advocacy organization whose primary mission is the rescue, rehabilitation, placement and advacacy of homeless companion animals into compassionate and permanent new homes. We rescue animals from the street and from kill shelters and assist animal owners with behavior problems and re-homing. Most of the dogs we rescue are American Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bulls and various mixes that all to frequently end up on the street. All of our animals receive medical care, vaccincations and behavior is fully evaluated before being placed for adoption. All prospective homes are carefully screened and home visits are conducted on all adoptions. The Well Mannered Pit Bull focuses on only a few animals at a time, and with the generous assistance from the ASPCA and concerned neighbors, these efforts have resulted in many animals finding new healthy relationships with responsible companions. Without this assistance, these efforts would not be possible. The Well Mannered Pit Bull has these pets available for adoption. Adoption Success Story! Lillie is a very sweet American Staffordshire Terrier mix that found her wonderful new home with an active family and is now living the "dog's life" she deserves. This young canine was brought to NYC Animal Care and Control by a police officer who found her tied up in a church parking lot. Since Lillie suffers from separation anxiety, she was matched with a large family in suburban Long Island where she will have a backyard, large house and plenty of kids to keep her busy. Where We Are Positively Pit Bull is located in a revitalizing historic district of northwestern Manhattan north of Morningside Heights (Columbia University) and south of Washington Heights.
