Please be aware that the towns do not pay for any routine medical expenses or tests.....they pay for a rabies shot, DP2 shot and worming (round worms only)......the dog that you adopt could have an unforseen medical condition that you would be responsible for.
Who We Are
The Town of Richland Dog Shelter and The Town of Sandy Creek Dog Shelter are municiple shelters located in Northern Oswego County, NY operated by Tonya E. Grossman the Shelter Manager and Dog Control Officer for both townships.
Adopting a friend
Adoption fees are payable in cash only
Puppies under 4 months of age.....$84.50 ($49.50 adopt./license+ $35 refundable spay/neuter fee)
Dogs over 4 months of age not spayed or neutered.....$87.50 ($52.50 adopt./license + $35 refundable spay/neuter fee)
Dogs over 4 months of age that are spayed or neutered.....$44.50 (adopt./license)

The shelter is open by appointment only and is located approx. 60 miles north of Syracuse, NY and 30 south of Watertown, NY. Please call or email ahead for more specific directions and an apointment.
