Mercury is a approximately two year old cat. She was abandoned in a taped up box on one of the first hot days of the summer. That is where she got her name. She is very affectionate & loves attention. She isn't too fond of sharing the love with other cats, but she may be confident enough to live with a dog. She is one of the few cats that love a belly rub & she has beautiful green eyes. If you are interested, please contact Bideawee at 516-785-4079.

Who We Are
Bideawee, a not-for-profit organization, recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary of saving the lives of homeless cats and dogs. Bideawee operates three limited admission shelters, dedicated to providing the most humane and loving environment for the animals in our care, while they await placement into permanent, loving homes. The animals posted on this site are located at our Wantagh facility. (Check out our other locations in Manhattan and Westhampton!) Bideawee also has two beautiful Pet Memorial Parks, and operates three outstanding Veterinary Clinics. So if you're searching for a new companion animal, are looking for a full-service veterinary care provider, or seek to memorialize a departed companion animal in a special way, Bideawee can help.
Adopting a friend
Our Adoption Center is open to the public Saturday through Monday between 10 am and 5 pm, with adoptions stopping at 4 pm; and Thursday and Friday between 12 pm and 8 pm with adoptions stopping at 7 pm; closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you see an animal in which you may be interested, there is a brief application process. We will be happy to meet with you to help match you up with a companion animal that best suits your needs, interests, and lifestyle. All of our available animals, including puppies and kittens, have already been spayed and neutered.
All animals have received age appropriate vaccinations. Felines have been tested for FIV and FLV. Canines 6 months and older have been tested for heartworm. All animals have been implanted with microchips. We ask for an Adoption Processing Fee of $125 for each animal adopted, to help us cover some of our expenses, and to allow us to save the lives of more homeless animals.

Take the Southern State Parkway to exit 28 South, Wantagh Ave. South.
Pass 5 traffic lights. After the 5th light, turn right on Beltagh Ave.
