Divine Felines is an incorporated non-profit organization 501c(3) dedicated to helping cats (of all ages) find placement in new, loving & safe homes. Our mission is to save as many needy cats as we can, who cross our path as strays or as abandoned pets. Our long-term goal, is to open a facility large enough to save a substantially larger number of lives.
We have a few cats with disabilities and some of them are permanent residents here. We find great satisfaction in helping handicapped cats that other people consider a burden. We have 2 wonderful blind kitties, a few FIV+ kitties, and one "wobbly" kitty among others.
We are a PRIVATE FACILITY. Cats are given medical care and are treated with the love that they deserve while awaiting a new home. We have many different cats of all ages and sizes . If you don't see what you are looking for on our website, we can put you on a waiting list.
We cover all costs for the strays that we shelter. Costs for neutering, spaying, vet visits, felv/fiv or blood tests & medication - along with food and maintenance of the cats & kittens in our shelter, are a burden we are more than willing to carry each month. For us, this is a small price to pay to help these wonderful misunderstood animals. As a non-profit organization, donations are extremely helpful and very much needed and appreciated.
We gladly accept any donations of any kind . Advice is always free and we receive many phone calls just for that purpose! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE! EVEN 1 DOLLAR CAN HELP US. We would like to be able to save the injured and hospitalization costs are making it difficult to do so! We desperately need to purchase a cart for a paralyzed kitty who has the ability to move his legs but can't stay standing up.
In addition, donations of everyday items (any cat related) are sorely needed. Here is a list of some things we really need:
Kitty Condos,
Scratching posts,
Cat toys,
Cat beds,
Towels,
Sheets,
Blankets,
Purina Cat Chow,
Any canned cat food,
Any cat litter,
KMR, or ANY items that you think we might need.
We do need foster homes! We currently take care of all of our cats ourselves. If you are interested in fostering a needy kitten or cat, we will provide the supplies! If you are interested in volunteering in any way, please call.
We can use your help!! 914-552-0822
Please remember: DIVINE FELINES INC. will take back any cat or kitten if the adoption does not work out for ANY reason at ANY time. We always strive to find that purrfect match for people and our kitties, but in the event that something does not work out, we are always here for you.
We are the new adoption partner at PetsMart in Harriman, N.Y. Some of our cats are on display there full time in the store.
We would like to give a huge thank you to our volunteers who do an awesome job at PetsMart: Debi Welle, Shana Crespo, Josette Claudio, Julie Long, Evie Vargas, Ben and Judy Flesky, Jerry Gutierrez, Gregory Cosia, JoAnn Shuart, Lucas and Kurtis Sparovich, Brion, Markus and Kathy Morrrissey, Caitlin, Alexis, and Cathy Connors, Joeo Gutierrez, Alex Martin, Kimberly Prior, Peg Hansen, The Labella Family, Marilyn Chema, Kaitlin Ferguson, Sarah Heder, Sarah Kyles, Halley Smith, Annamaria Bloom, Nicole Mazzarella and newcomer Drew Szarka!!!!!!!!! We couldn't do it without you guys!!! Thank you to The GoosePond Animal Hospital in Monroe for taking care of our kitties! We would like to thank T.A.R.A. (the animal rights alliance) for spaying and neutering at least 75 cats for us.They offer low cost spaying and neutering. They really do a great service to people that can't afford to spend the 300-400 dollar procedure. Their fee is only 60 dollars and this includes a rabies shot and an ear cleaning. Their phone number is 845-754-7100.
We would especially like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Campbell of the Feline Medical Center in Middletown NJ for their continuous and NEVER ENDING dedication to helping feline companions and strays with great love and true compassion!! They are well worth the one and a half hour drive. Their staff is outstanding as well (especially Joan!)! The Feline Medical Center is what an animal hospital is supposed to be like and few will ever measure up to them! They have helped us save some severely injured cats. Some hospitals would have asked for thousands of dollars for what they have done for us. They have helped us to find placement with many cats and kittens. Words can not be found to express our deepest thank yous.
Please call us to foster a needy kitten or cat. Please donate your time and affection to a worthwhile cause!
Loki's Story
6 weeks ago, I began a journey. My father had passed away, and life was not going
so well in New York. My mom and my sister convinced me to move to Florida. It
was to be the start of a whole new life. However, on moving day, the movers scared
one of my cats. Little Loki was terrified, and ran away. We waited and waited,
but ultimately had to begin our long drive to Florida. I'd like to say I never
gave up hope that I would see loki again, but it's not true. I really didn't
think I"d see him again.
I had nightmares every night about my little guy, and begged my friends to go look for him, but people are busy, and the few that made an attempt didn't see him, or caught a glimpse but couldn't catch him. I was just about to give up hope when in a last effort, I put an add on craigslist.
It was now almost 6 weeks that Loki had been battling hunger, and cold, all on his own. And the response to my add was overwhelming.
People came from all over to try to help. Joel, the coach of the Kingston rugby
team sent an email to his team to go look. A woman named Melissa volunteered
to drive from Connecticut to look for me. People left blankets and food, but
still no one had caught him. Finally, the monday before christmas, I received
a phone call from Karen. She said "Meowy Christmas, from Loki". And I knew that
my little guy was safe.
Karen is housing Loki at her house where he can stay safe and warm and happy
until we can find a way to get him to Florida. She braved a blizzard, and the
monstrous hill that I lived on to save him. She is truly a wonderful woman, and
has made my Christmas one full of joy and happiness.
Happy Holidays to everyone, and please find it in your hearts to donate to this
wonderful animal shelter and rescue organization, divinefelines....so we may
all (animals included) look forward to a wonderful New Year
!

To adopt a new FELINE friend, an APPLICATION is available. All adoptees are spayed or neutered (age allowing), FELV/FIV tested and up to date with their vaccinations. In the event that an adoption does not work out, we will gladly and immediately take back any cat or kitten - at any time.
There is a requested donation at the time of adoption and any questions you have after adoption, will be gladly answered. We do request that you bring your newly adopted pet to a qualified veterinarian promptly. All of our strays are of unknown genetic background and if a problem is found, we can then discuss our options. It is best, but not required, that your new kitty is kept separate from all other cats until after a veterinarian's exam. All of our cats/kittens are tested for feline leukemia and feline aids. They are treated for internal parasites as well as external. We strive to make a purrfect match for you and our felines! If you are adopting a kitten that is over 5 months old he or she will be spayed or neutered. If you are adopting a kitten under 5 months of age we can tell you where to get your new best friend spayed or neutered at a very low cost!!!!
