BAR Boxers usually come into rescue from shelter referrals or owner surrenders. We accept purebred Boxers who have no history of aggression towards people. We will also accept small breeds such as Pugs, Shih Tzus and Pekingese. We value our relationships with shelters and all-breed rescues, and work collaboratively to ensure that homeless Boxers find the right adoptive families.
BAR utilizes a foster home system to prepare our dogs for their new adoptive homes. Dogs coming into rescue will spend at least 2 weeks being evaluated, during which time they will be brought up to date on vaccinations; spayed or neutered; temperament tested with other dogs, cats, and children; and then placed in loving, pre-screened homes.
