Our Pet List

Our Featured Pet Hannah is a beautiful reddish-brown female chow mix. She has the traditional black tongue and the curled long tail. She loves to be brushed and lies down as soon as she sees you with a brush in your hand. She was a little timid at first but she is fast becoming to come out of that.

Who We Are

My husband and I have been taking in strays now for over 20 years. We are dog control officers and started out only holding the strays for 5-7 days and then taking them to the SPCA. After seeing so many of them being euthanized before because of over loaded facilities and before the no euthanasia policy was put into force, we then decided to keep them until homes could be found. It hasn't been an easy road because after the 5-7 day period is up we are then on our own for all expenses. If we didn't have help from donations of dog food we couldn't do this. We are not a non-for-profit organization because it costs a great deal of money to do so, but in all reality we are. We just don't have the paperwork to show for it.There is no profit when you have a dog for six months or longer and have them spay/neuter and vaccinated before adoption and keep the adoption fee reasonable enough for all to afford. We simply love what we do and we do the best we can to give them a better place to be.

Adopting a friend

Adoption fees available upon request. An adoption contract can be emailed upon request for review as well. Any questions at all are greatly appreciated if it helps to answer any concerns anyone may have about our procedures here.

Come Visit Us!

Our shelter is not like some of the shelters you may be used to because we have taken an outdoor kennel, enclosed it, cemented the floors, added lights and running water, but we would love to have visitors come to see what we take pride it to take care of our canine friends. We are in the process now of adding insulation and other improvements so that we may actually have heat for our strays this winter.

We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
