Elsa's Ark is a not for profit animal rescue formed in an effort to deal with the "Hidden Hamptons" where animals are abandoned, abused and left to die. We focus on the rescue, rehabilitation and home placement of animals deemed "not adoptable" because of age, health or temperment. We provide low/no cost spay/neuter services and feed and maintain feral cats in our community. We assist low income families in caring for their animals. We rescue cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens and horses. Care and shelter is provided in foster homes. WE HAVE NO SHELTER. (That is our fondest wish, however).
We are working to bring the Hamptons into the no kill movement by placing the animals we rescue in good homes.

HELP WANTED: We need animal care workers who can feed the cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens and clean cages and coops. Qualifications include the ability to lift large bags of food and litter, the ability to clean cages without hurting the animals, the ability to clean out chicken coops, the ability to wash the pet blankets and towels properly (we have machines) and the most important qualification - the ability to follow directions. FERAL CAT HELP: We always need help with our feral cats especially now as we are deep in winter. Our volunteers maintain several colonies of feral cats. We practice spay, neuter, release so that the colony will not continue to expand. We desperately need food and shelter for them. Please consider donating a feral cat house (a donation of $125) to provide a dry place for them, food or your time. Call us at 631.329.2900.
Adopting a friend
No animal leaves our care without being spayed or neutered. No animal leaves without our first checking, in great detail, the references provided by the potential adopter, and checking out the home to be sure that the animal is well placed.
