Humane Society of Monroe
Pet of the Month
We do not operate out of a shelter - all of our available dogs and cats are currently in their own homes being given up or in foster care.
We have members who are active in various breed rescue as well. We have contacts with all breeds - contact Leslie for that at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Joyce is active in greyhound rescue and can be reached at email@example.com.
Jeanne is the local contact for Irish wolfhound rescue and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We almost always, unfortunately, have kittens and young cats available for adoption. We also maintain a list of dogs being given up for a variety of reasons as well as a list of active rescuers. Write to us at email@example.com and we'll be happy to help you make a good match.

Who We Are
The Humane Society of Monroe is comprised of five board members and some volunteers who help to trap feral cats, get them tested, neutered and either returned or socialized and adopted. We also provide networking to help animals in need of homes find their new loving homes.
Adopting a friend
We do not operate out of a shelter. All of our adoptions are from the original or foster homes and unfortunately, we cannot accept additional animals due to the lack of foster homes. We do our best to match the type and personality of our four-legged friends with their new human companions. For the most part, you will be speaking directly with the original owners of the dogs or someone who has fostered them in a home setting. If we don't have the pet you are looking for, we also network with other shelters and rescue folks and can help you get connected with someone who might have your new companion.
Volunteering and Donations
We are in need of foster homes. These will mainly be for feral cats & kittens who need socializing and sometimes kittens needing bottle feeding. Any and all help is appreciated, especially during "kitten season". Of course, donations are appreciated as we receive money solely from donations and our own fundraising efforts. Anything you can donate is most appreciated to help us help our little friends.
