Our Mission
We are a not for profit 501c3 as of Sept 4, 2014. Â Thanks for the ongoing support as we reached this goal. Â The news is especially good for our senior and special needs dogs.
We are a not for profit 501c3 dog rescue on Long Island specializing but not limited to small dogs of all ages. Â We have a soft spot for super senior dogs. Â Â We are not a shelter. Â We rely on foster homes and need more fosters to be able to save more dogs. Â Our rescue vets all dogs even those who receive full care in the shelter. Â Documentation of care is available prior to adoption for your peace of mind. Our dogs are all spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, have basic vaccines, heart worm tested and on preventative and more. Â Many of our older dogs have dentals and all dogs have their medical concerns attended to. Â
Adoption Policy
Please contact us for an application. Â We will respond quickly and review your application in a timely manner. Â Applicants must be 25 please. Â We will check all references and do a home inspection. Â We want everyone to be happy but it is all about the dogs. Â Our web site is www.nbrescue.org.
We will make time for you to meet your potential family member on an individual basis. Â An appointment is necessary as the dogs are in foster homes.
