We are a privately run program helping occasional stray and homeless pets in the Albany NY area. Most often, we maintain a list of animals seeking homes, and match them with good homes looking for pets. Our goal is to educate owners in proper animal care, and offer training help to those who may be considering giving up a pet. . PLEASE DO NOT CALL ASKING FOR HOURS AND LOCATION. WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY SUCH AS A PUBLIC ANIMAL SHELTER .. If you are looking for a particular type of pet, please email us-we keep a listing of people needing to place pets and would be happy to put you in contact with each other if there is a "match". Understand that these are referrals only and we have no first hand knowledge of the pet, its health or behaviors.
Adopting a Friend
Since most of the animals listed on our website are either in their private homes, or with local non for profit rescue programs, there is no "one" procedure for adoption. We suggest to private owners to have a contract, do a home visit as well as a vet reference check. Any in the custody of local shelters, or rescues are subjet to that rescues individual adoption procedures. We will not assist in referring adopters to privately owned pets that will not be altered prior to placement.
Volunteering and Donations-
Come Visit Us! Currently the dogs are available to be seen by appointment only,a t the convience of the fosters/owners/rescues.. If there is a particular dog you are interested in we would be happy to assist in putting you in contact with the appropriate party.. Please remember..WE CAN NOT RETURN LONG DISTANCE PHONE CALLS.. and we try to stay within 1 1/2 hrs of Albany NY for adoptions..PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: EMAILS THAT CONTAIN IMBEDDED IMAGES OR ATTACHMENTS WILL BE DELETED. WE HAVE A VERY HIGH VOLUME OF MAIL AND EVERYONE IS A VOLUNTEER. PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR NAME, AND SPECIFIC QUESTIONS THAT ARE NOT ADDRESSED IN THE BIOS AS WELL AS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF/LIVING ENVIROMENT(KIDS, AGES, OTHER PETS LOCATIONS ETC) AS THIS WILL HELP FACILITATE ADOPTIONS.
