Our Featured Pet...

Beryl was a feral cat in the west side of Syracuse (in a neighborhood near Frazer Park and Frazer School) that had gotten pregnant at the age of 6 months! She had her kittens on August 27th, 2010... and to the horror of the entire neighborhood, Beryl, too young to know any better herself and too sickly, abandoned each of her kittens in various places in the neighborhood. One was found on the rescue founder's front door, another in someone's driveway cold and barely alive, another in the front lawn of someone's house, being attacked by yellow jackets..! Yet another was found by a teacher working at Frazer School. Beryl was shortly caught and thankfully, no more than the 4 kittens recovered were born. She was a scared, skinny girl, neglected and abused; we even found a cigarette burn on the top of her head that was furless and scabbing..! As you can see by her picture, she has healed beautifully. She's also put on weight, and has gone from scared, hissing and biting at everyone, to a total lap cat. She wants nothing more than to be with her human, and will curl up in your lap, sleep in your bed with you, and shower you with soft licks to your fingers when you pet her! She has made a total turn-around, and we're sure she'll make an awesome pet for some lucky family!

Oh, My, Gosh! We need foster homes, badly!! If you have the room and love to foster one of our rescue animals that is in transition from homeless to his or her forever home, please email us at 1UpRescue@gmail.com! Thank you!!

Who We Are

1-Up Rescue is a very small rescue, just founded in the summer of 2010. (A lot earlier than originally planned..!) Well, as they say, what happens, happens..

We are primarily focused on reducing the amount of stray and homeless animals out on the streets and preventing these animals from continued reproduction. We also focus on keeping otherwise loved pets with problematic behavior in their original homes threw education of both pet and owner, so pets do not need to be uprooted from their homes and put threw rescue and re-homing, but stay where they are if the family is willing. If not, we will do everything within our power to re-home the animal and correct the behavior issues that we face on our own...
