| Animals residing within the Boulder City Township require a current city license. City Licenses can be obtained from the Shelter or the Utilities office at City Hall. A valid Rabies Vaccination Certificate is required to purchase a license. Licenses are annual, valid from January to January. An additional fee will be charged for licenses purchased after January 31st. |
An officer is on duty seven days a week, including all holidays, with the exception of officer absence or illness. The shelter is closed to the public during kennel cleaning hours of 7:00a.m. To 11:00a.m.
Kennel staff and volunteers are not allowed to adopt or release animals to the public.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter at 293-9283. All adoptions and access requires an AC officer to be present. The on-duty AC Officer spends a great deal of time away from the shelter answering service calls, therefore if you wish to visit the shelter to meet an animal, please call the shelter and set up an appointment to visit the shelter.
To reach the shelter from Henderson and Las Vegas, travel South on US 93 through RailRoad Pass. After passing the exit for US 95, turn Left at the first light onto Veterans Memorial Drive. This winds up around a detention basin on your right becoming Industrial Road. Follow Industrial Road to the intersection with Yucca Street and turn left onto Yucca Street. The shelter is located a short distance up the hill to the left.
