Doggie Protective Services is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. Our rescued dogs and cats live in foster homes until we can find them appropriate, responsible, loving homes. We carefully screen potential adoptors through an application and interview process.

We are a community-based group and invite you to check out our Blog at www.dpsrescue.com/blog.html and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DPSRescue.

Adoption Process:
If you find a dog who you are interested in, please read the biography and if he/she is a match after reading the biography, then please complete our Adoption Application online by clicking HERE.

We review all applications and have a response within 24 hours. If it appears to be an initial match, we will then contact you via phone, generally within 48-72 hours (sometimes sooner!) to discuss the dog and your home. If it continues to be a match, we will then set up an appointment time to have your entire family/household meet the dog.

We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our rescued dogs
because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our dogs.

If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort,
please CLICK HERE to donate a Kuranda dog bed.

We are always in need of Foster Homes and Volunteers.
If you have a place in your heart where you want to make a difference in the lives of homeless,
abandoned pets, please contact us.

Take a peek at Pavarotti, the singing Shih Tzu

Pavarotti was known as the 'singing' Shih Tzu at the shelter. Every morning the shelter manager would walk up to him and talk to him and he'd start singing back. Pretty soon it became their routine. As soon as he'd see her, he'd start singing! Pavarotti is a 2-3 year old, 15lbs, Shih Tzu-Lhasa mix. He gets along well with other dogs but also would be an option to be a solo dog in the house.
