Our Pet List

Our Featured Pet...

There is an unending supply of animals needing homes, please consider adoption, fostering, or even dog walking, it's a great way to get to know the animals. You can help by not buying a pet from a Pet Store/Puppy Mill or Backyard Breeder. And encourage everyone to have their pet neutered, it makes a huge difference! For information on adoptions please contact: Great Slave Animal Hospital 129 Kam Lake Road, Yellowknife (867) 873-2579 Don't forget to check out Fort Smith and Hay River, they have animals needing homes too!

News

The kennels at the Clinic are usually full, and unless these animals get adopted, there's only one other way to make room and it's not very nice. We seem to be finding homes for many of the animals brought to the clinic, but as soon as they go, another one takes their place. There IS a pet over-population problem in Yellowknife, please be part of the solution by having your pet spayed or neutered.

Who We Are

The NWT SPCA doesn't have a facility, we work in conjunction with the Great Slave Animal Hospital to find homes for the animals and to promote responsible pet ownership in the North.

Adopting a friend

Adoptions are done through the clinic, the fee includes the animals first vaccination and the NWT SPCA provides a rebate on a portion of the spay/neuter surgery, if not already done.

Come Visit Us!

The animals are located at the Great Slave Animal Hospital, 129 Kam Lake Road, past the cement plant, all the way down on the left-hand side.
