Noah's Ark, Inc. provides certificates to the public to have your pet spayed or neutered. They are distributed on the first Tuesday of every month with a minimum $10.00 donation. They are located at The Cat's Meow at 124 S. Canyon in Carlsbad or you may reach them at (505) 885-9653.Who We Are
Noah's Ark/Carlsbad Animal Shelter takes in animals from Carlsbad and the surrounding areas of Eddy County. Adoption Services are managed by Noah's Ark.Unlike the previous Noah's Ark, which was closed in 2001, we are an open admissions shelter and therefore NOT a "no-kill" facility. We do our best to place adoptable animals, but the sad reality is that we are faced with MANY more intakes than we can realistically place.
Adopting a friend
Animals without an owner release are held for 4 days before they are placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $50 for dogs and $40 for cats, which includes their first vaccinations (given at the shelter) and a certificate for the animal's spay/neuter surgery and rabies vaccine.We began a 2-for-1 kitten special in June, and it has gone over so well we are continuing it indefinitely - possibly permanently! This means you can get two kittens (or adult cats, we're not picky) complete with first vaccinations and spay/neuter/rabies certificates for one adoption fee. That's a minimum of $150 worth of services for the bargain price of $40 (based on two male cats - females are considerably higher).
When available, training videos are provided with adoptions - a little training goes a long way towards making a new puppy into a forever friend!
