The City Shelter of Las Vegas, NM and the Las Vegas Dog Rescue have been working to combat the problem of homeless and suffering pets in the Las Vegas, New Mexico area. The City Shelter is located at 1700 N. Grand Ave. in Las Vegas just North of the Mills Ave. intersection in the city complex. The Las Vegas Dog Rescue is a group of volunteers who foster shelter dogs in the Santa Fe area to promote their adoptions.
We currently have many dogs and some cats at the city facility and in foster homes. We update our animal list every week, so please check back frequently for updates.
Las Vegas Dog Rescue is funded soley by our adoption fees and by donations, and supported largely by the work of dedicated volunteers. We are building a base of volunteers and could use more foster homes! If you would like to volunteer at the shelter or become a foster volunteer, please email Maureen at heartdropcomix@yahoo.com.
Our adoption fees are:
Dogs - $80.00
Cats - $60.00
Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery and parvo/distemper vaccinations for dogs or FVRCP vaccinations for cats. Rabies vaccination is also included for animals of sufficient age.
Adoption Requirements: We believe in placing our animals into loving homes where there is a commitment and the means to care for the new pet. It is also important that there be a good fit between the animal and the owner's lifestyle. Our goal is to have the best quality of life for the people and the pets in the family.
Las Vegas Dog Rescue is happy to consider out-of-state adoption applications. We will do everything we can to facilitate qualified adoptions. However, adopters are ultimately responsible for all transportation arrangements and costs.
Shelter hours are 7:30 am to 12:00pm, and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
Closed weekends.
You may visit any of our dogs in foster care by contacting the foster parents via the email on each dog's adoption page.
Thank you!
