QUILTS TO BENEFIT FELINES & FRIENDS

The idea for the Twin Willows Quilt Project was born from the desire to help unwanted and homeless animals in Northern New Mexico. We knew about wonderful work being done by several no kill sanctuaries and their continuing need for resources. During the cold winter months when outdoor ranch work is minimal, we decided to make quilts to sell that could benefit the shelters. All quilts are designed and made by Roberta Vigil and Deborah Archuleta, using vintage fabrics, handkerchiefs and linens. All are one-of-a-kind. Proceeds from the sale of these home-made quilts go directly to the shelters.

FOOD AND LITTER NEEDED!

We need donations of canned and dry food, clay or pine litter, or gift cards with which we can purchase much-needed supplies for our foster homes as well as low-income families who ask for help with food so they can keep their pets. Both Dog and Cat food welcome.

JOIN OUR GODPURRENT PROGRAM

FELINES & FRIENDS tries to help every needy cat, even though many of them are considered "non-adoptable" because of age, medical condition or temperament. We attempt to find permanent foster homes for these orphans and take care of them food, veterinary care, litter, etc. for the rest of their lives. Needless to say, our expenses far exceed our income.

FELINES & FRIENDS Godpurrent Program provides funding for the care of these cats. You can become a Godpurrent to the cat of your choice for as little as $25.00 a month. Your money goes directly to the care of that cat. Your money is not used for administrative costs, postage or salaries. In return for your generosity, FELINES & FRIENDS Foster Family will send you anecdotes, information and updates on the condition of your little friend.

You're sponsorship is a tax deductible charitable contribution. The Godpurrent Program is perfect for those who wish to help, but cannot personally take in a cat.

SUPPORT THE "LUCKY FUND"

In honor of the dog that was rescued last year and who required several surgiers performed by Dr. Bob Gruda, we have started The Lucky Fund so that we can have monies set aside for the next dog or cat who needs life-saving surgery. If you would like to help, please send a check to our mailing address or donate on line and note that the donation is for The Lucky Fund.

EMERGENCY! FOSTER HOMES NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!!

Due to the current economic downturn, adoptions of cats and kittens have slowed down. These kitties need places to live while they wait their turn for a loving home. Please help them. Even if you travel or only live in Santa Fe part time, you could enjoy the company of a cat while you are in town.

We are still looking for three cats stolen from our Adoption Center at Petco

On the following dates: TITAN - 4/6/08; TOBY - 2/5/08; BENTLEY - 10/5/07

Police Reports have been filed and suspects are on surveillance cameras. Please contact us if you have any information. Our volunteers are heartbroken not knowing where they are!

PETCO on Cerrillos Rd is our permanent Adoption Center

Cats are displayed throughout the week on a rotating basis.

NEW EXPANDED ADOPTION HOURS!
1pm - 4pm every Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Come meet with an Adoption Advisor and spend time with the kitties!

FOSTER HOMES

We are a "shelterless" shelter! This means that we rely 100% on foster homes in Santa Fe. If you have room and in your heart and home for an extra furry, please let us know. Even if you only live here part time, we would love to hear from you.

TRANSPORT: Do you commute between Santa Fe or Albuquerque and other cities? Would you be willing to take a cat as a "carry on". Except for Southwest Air, most airlines allow cats in carriers or Sherpa Bags; if you fly on a charter or your own plane... even better. Believe it or not, we sometimes find great homes for cats in other states, but need a safe way to transport them. Sending them in the cargo hold is not an option for us...it is just too traumatic and dangerous.

HOW TO ADOPT

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE AT THE FOLLOWING LINK http://www.felinesandfriends.org/forms/preadopt.htm
IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE TO YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 24 HOURS, PLEASE CALL 316-2281 OR E-MAIL US at askfelinesandfriends@yahoo.com IMMEDIATELY AS WE ARE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH OUR ON-LINE APPLICATION.

The minimum adoption donation we request is $100 and goes towards covering a check-up by our vet, FELV/FIV test, vaccinations, sterilization, deworming, microchip, collar & tag. It does not cover the cost of food and supplies while waiting for a new home and our overall cost of rescue is often far in excess of this amount.

Our friend, Dr. Tod Obergfell is now offering vaccination packages at Petco in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. In Santa Fe low-cost shots and microchips are available at Petco from noon to 3pm the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Felines & Friends. For dates and times in Albuquerque, please call the respective Petco stores.

HAPPY TAILS

Click here to see our Happy Tails!

We leave adopted cats on our site because we have found that if someone who is looking for a cat to adopt likes the look or personality of one of these cats, we can often help make a match with another cat in need of a home at one of the shelters in our area.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
FELINES & FRIENDS CAN NOW ACCEPT DONATIONS ON-LINE VIA PAYPAL

Felines & Friends received final determination as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2000 and received it Certificate of Authority from the NM PRC in 2002.

Who We Are

The New Mexico Chapter of FELINES & FRIENDS was formed in 2001 following the relocation of the VP - Administration from Los Angeles to Santa Fe together with her husband and 5 cats. The California Chapter has a long and prestigious history, including formal recognition from Los Angeles City Council. For more information and to view a copy of the "Resolution", please visit www.felinesandfriends.org As a "Second Chance" Organization, the NM Chapter of Felines & Friends works with the Santa Fe and Espanola shelters by accepting special needs cats, such as kittens who are too young for placement or need to be socialized, and adults who have health or behavioral issues... most of which can be resolved with loving attention and time.
To date, we have found homes for over 2,000 cats and dogs. Felines & Friends relies solely on donations and 100% of funds collected are used for the vet care and supplies for the cats. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and gratefully accept donations of any amount, which are tax deductible.

Michelle Tapia,

Award Winning Artist/Jeweler, has generously offered to donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of select pieces. To order, please visit http://www.kittyhope.com
