Who We Are
Desert Dawg is a small, independent one Navajo woman rescue effort located in the Four Corners region of northern New Mexico. Founded by Sharon Morgan in 2000, the mission of Desert Dawg is to rescue and adopt the unwanted animals in the Shiprock area.
Desert Dawg relies solely on donations from well-wishers.

*All adoptions are to be conducted in Shiprock, NM or at the Desert Dawg site.
4 Basic Requirements: must have a current Veterinarian, be over the age of 18yrs, provide 2 referrences, and be finanically capable of taking care of a pet.

Shiprock is located on the Navajo Nation, in northwestern New Mexico, in the Four Corners region of the Southwest. Shiprock is 95 miles north of Gallup, NM, 30 miles west of Farmington, NM, and 40 miles south of Cortez, CO. *A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY TO VISIT WITH DESERT DAWG. Desert Dawg is closed on Sundays.
