Our Pet List

Donate a Bed We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our foster homes because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our babies though. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.

Pets of the Month

Our pets of the month introduce themselves...

Riley

Poor little Riley.. He desperately needs a home.. He has been with his foster dad for over a year.. He would love his own family to love and spoil.. He is a great little dog!! He loves to play and then when they are all done and go inside he loves to just lounge with his person in front of the television.. Won't somebody at least just take a look at what a wonderful little boy this is.. He needs to find a home soon..

Willow

Willow is another sweet baby needing a home soon.. She loves belly rubs and is very eager to please.. All she wants is her own person to love and play with.. She loves to run and play even in her old age.. Please take a look at this sweet little old girl who nothing more than her very own person to love.. She is about 9 years old and has always had to fight for attention sue to living with 47 other dogs in a small trailer.. Thankfully after the confiscation the shelter contacted us and we were able to pull her into our program where eventually we hope she will find her very own people.. She does get along very well with others (both dogs and cats).. And she absolutely adores children who give her yummies from the table and belly rubs..

Who We Are

Quixote Humane was formed in 2000 to assist other non-profit organizations to place their available animals. To provide education which will result in more successful permenant adoptions. To help raise awareness of humane animal treatment. We also are committed to assist in research and promote legislation to enhance animal regulations state wide.

Adopting a New Friend

Please log on to www.quixotehumane.org to start the application process. These dogs are only available within the Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Valencia County areas.

The adoption process usually goes something like this:

Submit application, it gets reviewed, we call you and make arrangements for you to meet the foster dog/s you are interested in at their foster home, once a dog is selected, we can set up a time for a home visit, if everything goes well we can then set up the adoption (usually in Bosque Farms) where you will sign the paperwork, pay the adoption fees, and pick up your new dog.

Applications will only be held 30 days- after that you must re-apply. We cannot watch for certain breeds or types for you- please check our websites periodically for what you are looking for and then you can submit your application or e-mail/call us if an application has already been submitted and you want to meet a dog.

If you do not hear from us within 24 hours after calling or e-mailing one of us try again-sometimes we get very busy and lose track of time. Please be patient though- we are all volunteers and do have a lot going on. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have questions please feel free to e-mail Judy at quixotehumane@earthlink.net , Janelle at janellechavez@netzero.com , or Margaret at mitzsue10609@msn.com for information regarding our adoption policies and procedures. Thank you and good luck finding your new pet.
