Our mission is to provide the highest quality of service, care, and information to protect both the animals and citizens of the community.
Adoption Policy
Adopting from Edgewood Animal Control is a very simple process. We are a first come, first served basis, unless otherwise noted. If you see an animal on Petfinder, our Facebook Page, or other websites that is available for adoption and you are interested in making a forever companion, contact us. Come by our shelter during established working hours. A meet and greet with the animal is available at our location. Once you have chosen an animal from our location, and compatibility as been determined. We require the completion of an adoption contract with your individual information and the entire pet's information appearing on it. You will be required to pay a designated fee as established with our Edgewood town and shelter Ordinance 2018-06 Exhibit A, "Schedule of Fees". Standardly, our adoption fee includes a one year rabies vaccination, sterilization (as required by law), and a coupon given to you for a "wellness check" at one of our local veterinarians within our community. Some exceptions are made in cases where, do to age limitations for the sterilization and rabies shot process. In this event, a sterilization fee will be charged at the adoption, until proof of shots and sterilization can be verified at an assigned date, where required. Microchipping is available for any animal for $15.00.
