Who We Are

Jersey Animal Coalition is an all volunteer not-for-profit that has rescued and placed over 6,500 stray and abandoned pets since it was founded in 1989. Our mission is to preserve life. The organization is based in South Orange, New Jersey, but places animals throughout the state and nearby states. Without JAC, these animals would most likely have been euthanized in pounds or left to die on the streets.

JAC also promotes spay/neutering of pets, reunites pets with their owners, and educates the public about responsible pet ownership. It assists low income individuals with food and medical care for their pets by paying their veterinarians and providing pet food or boarding. In addition, a special fund supports medical care for seriously injured or abused animals. Volunteers regularly bring cats and dogs to a local nursing home, to allow residents to interact with these loving animals.
