The Pequannock Animal Shelter is a small municipal shelter that provides a temporary home for homeless, stray, and unwanted animals in our Pompton Plains, NJ facility. Our goal is to find permanent loving homes for all of the animals in our care. We are always in need of donations of food, litter and blankets, and are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help us help the animals. Stop by the shelter during our adoption hours to meet our wonderful animals and friendly staff or give us a call to learn how you can help.
Adopting a friend is fun and easy. Our pleasant staff and volunteers will help you determine the right pet for your family. Our adoption fee is only $25 and most animals are up-to-date on required vaccinations. Other medical and testing is on an as needed basis. All pets adopted from this facility are eligible for 2 FREE months of ShelterCare pet insurance.
We are located right off the Newark Pompton Turnpike on near the Lukoil gas station. You'll see the sign for the Pequannock Animal Shelter and turn onto Washington Street. The shelter is at the end of the road on the left. Please call if you need directions.
Donations of food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, old towels and blankets, bleach, and other animal supplies and care products are always needed. You can drop these things off at the shelter during our normal adoption hours. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated, and you can rest assured that every penny will go directly to help the animals.
You can make donations in person at the shelter during our scheduled adoption times or mail a check to the shelter.
