WHO WE ARE
Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter is a newly established shelter in Middlesex County, dedicated to the welfare of animals through the rescue, care and placement of injured, abused, neglected and abandoned animals into permanent and loving homes. We serve as advocates for animals, and are committed to providing community service programs and educating the public about the humane treatment of animals.
Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter has a progressive philosophy apart from the typical “dog pound” attitude. We do not euthanize healthy adoptable animals. “Adoption events” are held four times a week and we work with rescues and animal shelters to ensure each adoptable animal receives every opportunity to be placed in a permanent home.
Every animal at the shelter is treated with respect and care regardless of breed, age or personality
FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT THE H.R.A.S WEBPAGE
HRAS has approximately 200 animals . Each of the cats, kittens, dogs and puppies need to know someone loves them. They need to know someone cares. Each "temporary resident" has it's kennel area cleaned, receives fresh food and water, clean bedding and a toy. We have several cats and dogs separated from their families due to Hurricane Sandy.
There's alot of dedication, care and some "elbow grease" needed to properly maintain our shelter pets. It's can be a bit of work, but every moment is worth it.
If you have some spare time, during the day, don't mind a bit of work and really love animals, join our clean team. Help a homeless pet. If you would like to volunteer please contact m.cielesz@helmettaboro.com or call (732) 521-6016
