Who We Are...
A private non-profit shelter for stray, abandoned and homeless animals.
Spaying and Neutering
The Jersey Shore Animal Center spays and neuters all animals prior to adoption unless age or health preclude the procedure. As of January 15, 2000 there will be a $50 deposit held for pets which are unaltered at the time of adoption (due to health or age). The JSAC does not provide neutering for private pets or backyard strays, instead please call Friends of Animals at 1-800-321-PETS.
The Jersey Shore Animal Center provides animal control services for Bricktown. This means that our certified animal control officers pick up stray dogs, cats, livestock and injured wildlife. We are a small shelter and must monitor our intake of unwanted owned animals. We only accept animals from Bricktown, by appointment. Exceptions are made at the discretion of management. We are always looking for homes for the dogs, cats, rabbits, and others that live at our shelter. If you are looking for a new companion, please give us a call. Printable applications are available from our other website. Click on the link at the top of the page.
Our shelter has many wonderful volunteers, and we are always looking for more. Some of our volunteer programs are: pet therapy, thrift shop workers, dog walkers, grooming animals and general helpers. Call for more information.

At this time, the Jersey Shore Animal Center is only adopting out animals to residents of NJ, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants. (Rescue organizations are exempt from this policy). This is due to the fact that we may require a house visit prior to adoption, and because we require that the animal is returned to us if the adoption does not work out. We apologize, but some applicants may be turned down solely because they live too far away. All adoptions are based upon on an application process. Applications to adopt are reviewed by a committee and may take several days to process. Applicants must call us at 732-920-1600 after 24-48 hours to find out the status of the application. An application may be printed from our other site, please click the link at the top of the page. The form may then be faxed to us.
