DONATIONS FOR MEDICAL CARE NEEDED!

We held our breath waiting for Cassidy's prognosis:

This good boy has a tumor on his left leg. We found out that while it is cancer, it has not metastasized - whew! Once his leg is amputated he will be cancer free, and so much more comfortable! Please donate to help with the cost of his surgery.

Mocha is a super-smart, very active young dog who had a 'bum knee'.

Her slippery patella has been corrected. Now she needs a home and we need some help with her surgical costs. Please contribute if you can!

Fuzzy Friends Frantic for Foster Families!

Fostering is wonderful way to help the shelter. You provide 'room and board', and SPAC takes care of any medical issues.

Mickey is a sweet & gentle cat who needs a helping hand!

Read his story to find out more, and how YOU can help him!

Buddy is a wonderful old dog who desperately needs a foster home.

A cold shelter is no place for him to be, especially with 'creaky' hips and legs! Please read Buddy's story and contact the shelter if you can help!

WHERE DO YOUR DONATION DOLLARS GO?

At SPAC we have three 'funds' that are supported by our generous donors:

Sonny's Fund - This fund is designed to help adoptable animals who have severe but treatable medical problems. The fund covers animals who need important surgeries, medications, or visits with veterinary specialists.

Spay/Neuter Fund - pays for the spays and neuters of our adoptable cats and dogs. We strive to have every animal altered prior to adoption; it's the ONLY way to 'fix' the problem of pet overpopulation!

General Fund - supports everyday necessities at the shelter: pet food, kitty litter, cleaning and office supplies, minor repairs, etc.

Monetary donations can be designated for a specific fund, or we will apply them where they are needed most. Donations may made in person at the shelter, may be mailed to the shelter, or you can click on our "Donate" link to use Paypal. Please remember that all donations to SPAC are tax-deductible. From the bottom of our 'paws' to the top of our heads, thank you for your generosity!

Who We Are... Sayreville Pet Adoption Center is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that seeks loving homes for stray or unwanted cats and dogs. More than 700 pets are adopted annually. Contact the shelter directly at (732) 727-3895. We're open 7 days a week for your convenience - see our hours at the top of the page.
Adopting a Friend... We have plenty of animals who deserve loving homes. The adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccines as well as spay/neuter. Dogs are tested for heartworm and cats are tested for leukemia and feline AIDS. Please note that we require an in-person meeting and completion of an application for all adoptions. We do not adopt animals as gifts. We do not ship or deliver pets.

All potential adopters at Sayreville Pet Adoption Center must complete an application in order to adopt a pet. Applications are available at the shelter, or you can request an application by emailing pawsup@verizon.net . We make every attempt to review and process aplications within 24-48 hours of their submission, but in some cases the process may take longer. Completion of an application neither guarantees an adoption nor does it place a pet "on hold". Approved applicants will be contacted once the review is completed. SAME DAY ADOPTIONS WILL NOT OCCUR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Therefore, if you plan to travel from a distance to meet one of our pets, please contact us so that your application may be completed and reviewed prior to your visit.

THINKING ABOUT DECLAWING A CAT? Educate yourself on what declawing really entails. Please read this article (copy and paste into your browser): http://www.aspca.org/about-us/policy-positions/declawing-cats.html . SAVE A PAW!

Adoption fees:

Adult cats - $75
Kittens - $75 (plus spay/neuter deposit if applicable)
Adult dogs - $100
Puppies - $150 (plus spay/neuter deposit if applicable)

PLEASE NOTE: All of our adult dogs and cats are SPAYED or NEUTERED before they leave the shelter. THERE IS SIMPLY NO OTHER WAY TO FIGHT PET OVERPOPULATION THAN BY SPAYING/NEUTERING OUR PETS. Not to mention, neutered pets are healthier, happier and live longer lives!

Volunteer... Volunteers over the age of 18 are needed to help at the shelter for a few hours any day of the week walking dogs, socializing with the cats, or both! We also need volunteers to help raise donations and awareness of the shelter by assisting with special events - these volunteers may be under 18 years of age! If you want to help walking dogs, please contact Cathy at pawsup@verizon.net. If you would like to help the cats or to volunteer at events, please contact Cathy at the email above, or Barbara at bjkeegan@yahoo.com.
Donations... We always need:
RAWHIDE chews for the dogs!
BLEACH & LAUNDRY DETERGENT!
CAT TREATS!
Kitty Litter
Paper Towels
Topical Flea & Tick preventative for the dogs!
Ear Mite Treatment for Cats
Thank you for any help you can provide!
