Who We Are
North Jersey Collie Rescue concentrates on relocation of collies in the central and northern counties of New Jersey. Volunteers provide these services to the breed they love.
Adopting a Friend
The first step in adopting a dog, any dog, is to read about the breed, visit dog shows, and talk to current owners. Once you've decided that collies are right, check out your findings with us. You will be interviewed and asked your reasons for wanting a pet, the conditions under which you plan to keep the dog, and for a vet reference. Home checks may be made. When a dog matching your needs and that of the dog enters rescue, you will be introduced. At the time a decision is made, a contract will be presented that assures the lifelong well-being of the dog. A donation will be required that is used to feed and vet yours and other rescues. Dogs come spayed or neutered and with current shots and evidence of hearworm testing.
