Spalding is just the funniest cat at the shelter. He has tons of personality. He likes to play a little rough so he needs a home with no small children that could be scratched. He also needs someone that will have the time to play with him daily Spalding is a cat that loves to run and climb he is a very happy active cat. You should see this guy with a laser pointer he will make you laugh so hard your ribs will hurt. His is listed as a special needs cat because he has a chronic sinus problem that requires little more than regular observation and occasional meds.

Who We Are
Claws Cat Rescue and Adoption Shelter of Sussex is a non profit organization. We operate solely on donations. We receive no money from the state or county.
We put a lot of love and time into rehabbing abused & abandoned cats. All of our cats are to be adopted as inside cats only. We do not want our cats to end up homeless or in a pound running out of time ever again. Every cat is welcome back at any time for any reason.
We are always looking for volunteers & currently we need a part time vet tech. If you or someone you know may be interested please contact us.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccines. All cats & kittens have tested FIV/FELV negative and are also wormed and treated for parasites including fleas & ticks. Cats of age are spayed/neutered before adoption. Younger kittens are adopted under the condition they will be spayed by the age of 6 months. Our adoption fee covers only a portion of the vet bills incurred.
From time to time we do have a cat that has FIV and we will ALWAYS include that information in the cat's description. Any cat with FIV will be listed as a special needs cat and can only be adopted to homes without other cats or homes with only FIV positive cats.

away to respond to emergencies & rescues.
