Our Featured Pet is Scooby! SCOOBY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Meet Scooby. Scooby came to us from a southern NC high kill shelter where he was found abandoned on the streets. So sad to think of this baby all alone fending for himself on the streets. Luckily for him, we had an open foster space so he is now safe and warm with us. He is approx. 5 months old and currently weighs 34 lbs so he will most likely be on the larger side when full grown. He is a beautiful, sweet natured boy who is just a joy to have around. He is currently fostered with 2 kids and is sweet, loving and gentle with them as well as with the many children who have come to visit. He is also fostered w/ 2 female, alfa dogs and is friendly, playful and submissive with them. The more we get to know Scooby, the more we fall in love with him. He really is a good boy and will make some lucky family very happy. He enjoys romping around in the fenced in yard and tossing his toys around but is also content to lay in his spot on the couch or recliner...or snuggle w/ his humans. He really is easy to have around. Not a big barker, sleeps peacefully through the night and is doing reslly well with housebreaking. If you think Scooby would be a good fit, e-mail gone2thedawgz@yahoo.com and request an adoption application. Scooby's adoption fee is $350.

Looking for Foster homes in central and northern NJ.

We save highly adoptable dogs from overpopulated high-kill shelters in the south. Volunteers then foster the dogs in there home until they are placed in their forever homes. We welcome people who are interested in fostering and have a passion for dogs. The more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. If interested, email Camille at FureverHomeRescue@att.net

Who We Are

Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue is a small group dedicated to saving wonderful dogs who otherwise would be euthanized due to lack of space in the shelter system. Our foster dogs are fully vetted and carefully evaluated prior to coming into rescue. Most of our dogs and puppies come from The Lenoir County SPCA in Kinston, NC. You can visit their site at http://lenoircountyspca.org/home . We have been working with this shelter for years and have established a wonderful relationship with them. The employees and volunteers there work exceptionally hard at saving the animals that come in on a daily basis. Once arriving here from NC, the foster dogs live in our home as a family member along side our children and personal dogs which allows us to get a true sense of their personality and needs so we can find the best possible family for them.
