WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT FINDING FOREVER HOMES FOR OUR FOSTER FUR-KIDS. IF YOU RENT, AND ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ADOPTING, PLEASE BRING WRITTEN PROOF THAT YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE THE FUR-KID YOU WISH TO ADOPT. THIS IS ONE AREA WHERE WE DO NOT COMPROMISE.

Who We Are

Winkie's started as a cat rescue organization in 2002 with a cat we named Winkie after finding her abandoned and trying to survive on the streets. It took us 6 months to find just the right home for Winkie, where she now lives in luxury reborn as "April". 6 years later, we've expanded to a cat and dog rescue group and have found homes for over 600 animals.
WE BELIEVE THE HOMELESS ANIMALS OF NEW JERSEY SHOULD BE OUR PRIMARY FOCUS! WE WORK PRIMARILY WITH THE JERSEY BASED SHELTERS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. WE STRONGLY BELIEVE IN PEDIATRIC SPAY & NEUTERING NOT ONLY AS A POPULATION CONTROL, BUT ALSO FOR THE PREVENTION OF ILLNESSES SUCH AS PYOMETRA THAT CAN KILL YOUR PETS.

Adopting a friend

Although we don't have an online application, we are eager to help you meet any of our fosters. Just contact the foster mom. We'll get back to you as soon as we can, but please remember, we both have full time jobs in addition to our rescue work. We promise to make the adoption process easy. We have additional volunteers who assist at our adoption events.
