WE DO NOT ADOPT ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS!! We try to make the best match for the pet AND the adoptive family.
You must be at least 25 years old to adopt. You will then fill out an application for the pet that you are applying for. Your application will be acknowledged by email. We will go over your application, check personal and veterinary references. A home visit will be conducted. IF you are chosen to adopt that pet, you will be notified within 7 days.
Please understand that due to the a shortage of volunteers and the high volume of applications, we cannot contact each applicant about their adoption status. Your application will be acknowledged, and if you are chosen to adopt this pet, you will be notified by email within a week. We will then make an appointment for you to meet the pet that you have applied for/been matched with. At no time are you under any obligation to adopt.
Please take several things into account before you apply. Size, grooming and exercise requirements, just to name a few. (Just because you have "fallen in love" with a picture of a certain pet, does not necessarily mean that it is the best match for your family).
New Beginnings Pet Rescue is NOT a shelter. We are a series of local foster homes. We are a group of dedicated volunteers who's goal it is to place companion animals in safe, family settings.
Each pet that comes to New Beginnings Pet Rescue is kept in the loving homes of our volunteers right along with our spouses, children and own pets and treated as one of our own until their forever home is found. Our generous volunteers provide a loving home setting while beginning training, housebreaking and socialization while waiting for their adoptive family.
While some pets are adopted out in a relatively short time, others may be with us for a more extended time. Some of our foster pets may have special needs, and so their time with us is longer, but we believe there is a perfect forever home for each pet. We take dogs from high-kill shelters as well as owner turn-ins when space allows. We also have a special place in our hearts for special needs, elderly and pregnant dogs and try to take them whenever possible.
