Bird of the Month
If you would like to learn more about our spotlighted bird of the month, Opus or find out about other birds waiting to be adopted, please contact us or fill out our online application form. He is looking to find his forever home. Might that be you?
Conures make great pets! They often love to hang out while
you go about your day. Just please be sure that they have clipped wings if you
are going to have people coming in and going out of your doors. Given adequate
attention, conures are loving birds that are easy to train and thrive on their
owners' companionship. As with other bird species, owners should make sure to
provide safe areas for their conure to explore and investigate. Conures are not
shy birds and will let you know if their needs are not being met. Their loud,
shrill call is a tool that they use to bring attention to important situations,
and many have been known to become excellent "watch dogs."
Our birds are disease tested and come with a cage,
toys, and a small supply of food so that your bird can eat the same food that he
or she did in their foster home. This helps to smooth your bird's transition
into their new home.

Wings of Hope-NJ prides itself on finding loving, experienced
adoptive homes for unwanted, abused, neglected and abandoned exotics... from
birds to small critters. We believe that all animals deserve the highest quality
care, love and respect, and that owners should have access to the most current
bird information possible. Unwanted exotics are accepted at WOH-NJ, and in turn
are adopted out to qualified applicants.
We are a nonprofit, volunteer
organization established in 2000 that is dedicated to assisting owners in
finding new, loving homes for their animals when they can no longer care for
them. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, as recognized by the IRS.
Please be advised that Wings of Hope-NJ Inc utilizes a network of
private foster homes for our birds. In order to see a bird you may be interested
in, you must have an approved application on file. If you are ready to apply
now, you can access the online version now. Once that is received, reviewed, and
approved, you can make an appointment with the respective foster home to see the
animal of your choosing.
We do NOT ship our birds. If you are interested
in a bird we have in our program, you must make arrangements to come see the
bird prior to adoption. WE do NOT offer a delivery service of any kind.
We are bursting at the seams with all kinds of birds! We have a variety of birds ready and patiently waiting for their loving, longtime homes.
We ask you to keep in mind that many birds never appear on this
page, but are placed quickly upon the return of their bloodwork. Our
prescreened, preapproved homes in waiting make it possible for us to place
incoming birds into appropriate homes with very little fuss. If you wish to be
considered as a “pre-approved” potential home for incoming birds, you can fill
out an adoption application and have your adoption interview and if all goes
well there, we will have everything in place so that when a bird who is
appropriate for your home arrives, it is simply a matter of you meeting the bird
and the bird can be placed with you. This is the very best method for us to use,
allowing us to keep our adoption fees low and allowing us to have lots of
wonderful home choices for the birds who come to us.
We are centrally located in New Jersey. However, we do
have foster homes throughout the northeast, including NJ, NY, PA and now NC.
Wings of Hope provides rescue and
sanctuary for a variety of pets, from avian exotics to mice. We believe all
animals deserve a longtime home and quality of care for their lifetime. We
utilize a network of foster homes located throughout the NJ area along the east
coast into NC. We do NOT ship
any of our rescue animals. Please visit us anytime online at www.wingsofhope-nj.com.

All
birds are vetted and/or disease tested prior to adoption and all birds will be
adopted with a cage, toys and all supplies. A donation will be required at the
time of adoption and this is non-refundable and because we are a 501 non profit
organization, it is tax deductible as allowed by law.
