When you take an animal into your home you become responsible for that animal's care. You are required to give - your time, your money, your energy, and your heart. What you get back is immeasurable - a friend!
Piggie Harvest is a rescue that is dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted and abandoned guinea pigs and hamsters. We educate people about guinea pig and hamster care, and try to find "forever" homes for the animals in our rescue, no matter how long it takes. We are a no-kill rescue that fosters guinea pigs and hamsters in a private home. We do not support animal breeding and will only adopt singles or non-breeding pairs to loving homes where they will live as indoor pets.
If you see an animal that you are interested in,
email the rescue and let us know who you are considering. We will send you an application to fill out. Once your application is approved, we make arrangements for you to meet the animal of your choice. In a matter of a day or two you can go home with a new friend!
We ask for a $20 dollar donation to the rescue to adopt a guinea pig and a $5 donation to adopt a hamster. If you choose to adopt more than one animal, then you are just asked to give any amount of your choice for the second animal.
The rescue receives no outside funding and is run strictly on donations. One way that you can help us help the animals is by becoming a "Piggie Sponsor". A one-time donation of any amount can go a long way to help us feed and provide medical care for our animals. Just
email the rescue if you are interested in becoming a "Piggie Sponsor". If we could only get a dollar from each person that reads this site...
Piggie Harvest is currently looking for foster homes to assist us in our rescue efforts. If you could share your home and family with a guinea pig or bonded pair in need, please
email the rescue and become a foster home. We provide the cage, water bottle, and food dish. You provide the food, bedding, and love of a family!
If you are thinking of adopting a guinea pig or already have piggies in your family, a great information and care website is www.guinealynx.com .
Check it out, you may learn a thing or two about piggies!
