Secaucus Animal Shelter's mission is to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of animals and people in Secaucus. We do this by celebrating the relationships between people and animals. We develop programs that help foster the positive aspects of our connection to animals and prevent the negative aspects such as neglect and abuse. We promote our role as rescuer and ask the community to join us in our quest to create a community where no animal ever suffers due to abuse, neglect or ignorance and every pet born will be assured of a good home and care during its natural life.
Secaucus Animal Shelter operates a full service animal welfare organization that offers the community valuable programs and services such as:
* Secaucus Animal Shelter caring for lost and homeless animals.
* Field services that rescue injured and lost animals in the community.
* Field services that relocate non-domestic animals away from town.
* Adoption programs that place shelter animals into loving homes.
* Educational programs for schools and the community.
* Liaison with Secaucus Police Department and Secaucus Department of Public Works.

News
We appreciate all donations of funds, food, blankets, towels, litter and toys. We are currently in need of a fax machine and copy machine; if you have any surplus, we will put it to good use, with great appreciation.
We need posters to put up in area stores and businesses to promote the adoption of our shelter animals. This would be a good school project, too. Thank you!
Adopting a friend
Adopting is easy: come and see all of our great animals, choose the one you like best, produce I.D. and a reference and make a small donation ($30 cat, $45 dog) toward the shots, etc., which they have already received, and you are on your way home with your new friend for life!
Come Visit Us!
The shelter is open every day from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM and we will make an appointment if you wish to come at other times. We are just off N.J. Route 3, Meadowland Parkway exit (just east of Giants Stadium and Continental Arena), south approx. 2 miles to end of Meadowland Parkway. This is only 5.3 miles from Times Square and accessible in twenty minutes by NJ Transit bus route 129 or NJ Transit or Amtrak train to Secaucus station, then courtesy shuttle to Meadowland Parkway.
