New Jersey Save A Pet Rescue, Inc.
Who We Are
Our goal is to provide New Jersey’s lost and abandoned cats and dogs with quality housing, veterinary care, and socialization until a permanent home can be found for them. We also provide the public with important education about animal welfare issues such as the importance of spaying or neutering your pet, choosing the right pet for your household, proper training techniques for your pet, etc. It is our belief that educating the public is the key to helping reduce the large numbers of animals that end up in shelters every year.
In addition to our foster and education program, NJSAP networks with local municipal shelters to provide them with necessary services such as veterinary care and public exposure to facilitate adoptions for impounded animals.

Up-Coming Events
June 2007
June 2nd and 16th from 12-3 at the Petco in Piscataway
Special requests for meeting animals in their foster homes will be honored upon contacting us at info@njsap.org.
Come Visit Us
You can now visit some of New Jersey Save A Pet’s adoptable cats daily at the Adoption Center in the Petco of Piscataway during store hours. In addition, we will be hosting adoption days and events as posted below.
Because NJSAP is a group of foster homes and not a shelter, we have a variety of convenient locations where foster pets can be seen. If you are unable to make it to a scheduled adoption event please submit an application to schedule an appointment to meet our adoptable pets. We have foster homes convenient to the following areas: Bernardsville/Basking Ridge, Bridgewater/Raritan, Branchburg, Martinsville, North Plainfield, Plainfield, Watchung, Piscataway, and Metuchen.
*PLEASE NOTE: Only approved applicants will be given appointments to meet our pets in their foster homes or other locations outside of adoption events. Also, while we try to make meeting places as convenient as possible not every pet can be seen in all of the above exact locations.
Volunteer With Us
Below you will find a list of some of the many ways in which you can be actively involved as a volunteer for NJSAP. If you have an idea that you don't see listed, please feel free to share them with us. You can contact us by e-mail at volunteer@njsap.org or by snail mail at PO Box 92 Bernardsville, NJ 07924-0092. We look forward to hearing from you.
As we do not have a facility, temporary foster homes are always needed for our dogs or cats. We provide you with food, litter, etc. and you provide the animal with shelter and socialization.
Transportation from shelters to foster homes, to veterinarians, adoption days, events, etc.
Volunteers are need for our fundraising committee as well as posting flyers for fundraising events and attending events such as rummage sales, silent auctions, etc.
Volunteers are needed to do write-ups for local newspapers, articles for our newsletter, informational pamphlets, etc.
Volunteers are needed to man tables at fundraising events, Street Fairs, etc.
Volunteers are needed to show animals at adoption days and provide the public with information about our organization.
Experienced web developers are needed to design, maintain and update our website.
NJSAP is always in need of dog and cat crafts to sell at events and people who can build things such as cat scratching posts and feral cat houses.
In addition to these opportunities there is always a need for small tasks such as creating and/or posting flyers within your community, helping out with phone contacts, picking up supplies, etc.
